Good sensor, watch the wiring
Works exactly as described. Just make sure your logic levels match if you are using a 3.3V microcontroller, though it seems tolerant. The form factor is very convenient for tight spaces.

Industrial grade performance
We deployed ten of these in a prototype conveyor system. They have been running continuously for weeks without drift or failure. Excellent build quality.

Great value, easy to code
The I2C implementation was straightforward with my Arduino setup. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the documentation could be slightly more detailed regarding register maps, but overall a solid product.

Perfect for robotics projects
This sensor is incredibly accurate for its size. I integrated it into my autonomous robot using the UART interface, and the distance readings are stable even in varying light conditions. Highly recommended for hobbyists.

Compact and reliable
Used this for altitude hold on a small indoor drone. The fast sampling rate makes a huge difference in stability. It handles the 5V input without any issues.

Exceeded expectations
Bought this for a university final year project. The precision at close range is impressive. Setup took less than an hour including writing the driver code.
Q: What is the maximum refresh rate available?
A: The sensor supports a sampling frequency of up to 250Hz, which can be configured via the serial command set provided in the datasheet.
Q: Does it come with connecting wires?
A: The module typically comes with header pins soldered or unsoldered depending on the specific SKU, but connecting jumper wires are usually not included in the package.
Q: Does this module work directly with Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, it works perfectly with Raspberry Pi. You can connect it via the I2C pins (SDA/SCL) or UART. Ensure you enable the respective interface in raspi-config first.
Q: Can I use this outdoors in direct sunlight?
A: While the sensor has some ambient light rejection, performance may degrade in strong direct sunlight. It is best suited for indoor applications or shaded outdoor environments.
Q: Is the laser safe for human eyes?
A: Yes, the TOF10120 uses a Class 1 laser, which is considered safe for normal operation and does not pose a risk to human eyes under typical usage conditions.
