Perfect for robotics projects

This HC-SR04 module works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The range is accurate up to about 3 meters in my testing, which is perfect for my obstacle avoidance robot. Very easy to wire up.

Good value but sensitive to angle

Great sensor for the price. It works well for basic distance measurement. Just note that the object needs to be relatively perpendicular to the sensor for the best reading, otherwise it can scatter.

Excellent for beginners

As someone new to electronics, this was very forgiving. I followed a tutorial and had it measuring distance within 10 minutes. The pins are clearly labeled on the back.

Standard performance

It's a standard HC-SR04, nothing fancy but it does exactly what it says. Don't expect high precision for industrial applications, but for hobbyist work, it is ideal.

Reliable and consistent

I bought five of these for a school project. All of them worked out of the box without any calibration needed. The code libraries available online make integration super simple.

Q: What is the minimum distance this sensor can accurately measure?

A: The specified minimum measuring distance is 2cm. Objects closer than 2cm may not be detected reliably or may return inconsistent readings.

Q: Is this sensor waterproof for outdoor use?

A: No, the standard HC-SR04 module is not waterproof. It should not be exposed to rain or moisture. For outdoor applications, you would need to add a protective housing or look for a specifically waterproof ultrasonic sensor model.

Q: Does this come with jumper wires?

A: No, this package includes only the ultrasonic sensor module. Jumper wires and microcontroller boards are sold separately.

Q: How do I handle multiple sensors on one project without interference?

A: To avoid crosstalk between multiple HC-SR04 modules, you should trigger them sequentially rather than simultaneously. Add a small delay (e.g., 30-60ms) between triggering each sensor to allow the sound waves from the previous measurement to dissipate.

Q: Can this sensor be used directly with a 3.3V logic board like Raspberry Pi?

A: The module operates at 5V. While the echo output is often compatible with 3.3V inputs, it is highly recommended to use a voltage divider or a logic level converter for the trigger pin to ensure safety and stability when connecting to 3.3V boards.
