Works well for school projects
Bought five of these for a class project. Four worked perfectly out of the box; one needed a little cleaning on the contacts but works fine now. Good consistency overall.

Good sensor, fast shipping
The sensitivity is quite high, which is good for detecting subtle light changes. I had to adjust the pot a bit to stop false triggers in my room lighting, but once set, it's stable.

Great dual output feature
Having both AO and DO on the same board saves space. The LM393 comparator is reliable. No noise issues observed even with long wires.

Excellent light detection range
I tested this from complete darkness to direct sunlight, and the analog values scale linearly. Very useful for line-following robots or ambient light monitoring.

Perfect for my Arduino project
This module works exactly as described. The analog output gives smooth readings for light intensity, and the digital threshold is easy to set with the potentiometer. Great value for the price.
Q: What is the maximum distance this sensor can detect a light source?
A: As a photodiode, it detects ambient light intensity rather than distance. However, for a focused point source like an LED, it can reliably detect changes up to 10-15cm depending on the emitter's brightness.
Q: Does the package include connecting wires?
A: The standard package includes the module only. Connecting wires or headers are sold separately, though many users already have jumper wires available.
Q: Is the output inverted when the light is detected?
A: The digital output (DO) goes LOW when light intensity exceeds the threshold set by the potentiometer, and HIGH when it is below the threshold. This can be adjusted in your code logic.
Q: Can I use this outdoors?
A: While the electronic components are robust, the board itself is not waterproof or UV protected. For outdoor use, please house it in a weatherproof enclosure with a clear window for the sensor.
Q: Can this module be used directly with a 5V Arduino Uno?
A: Yes, this module operates comfortably within the 3.3V to 5V range, making it fully compatible with the Arduino Uno without needing a logic level converter.
