Lovely patina
The color is rich and deep. It arrived well-packaged with no scratches. It takes a moment to get used to the shape for resting larger brushes, but for standard calligraphy brushes, it is ideal.

Solid and stable
Unlike lighter resin versions I have owned before, this solid brass piece does not slide around on the desk. The ruler markings on the side are a nice bonus feature that I actually use frequently.

Exquisite craftsmanship for my calligraphy desk

Beautiful but smaller than expected
The detail on the deer is incredible, and the antique finish looks very authentic. I deducted one star only because it is slightly smaller than I imagined from the photos, though it still functions perfectly as a pen rest.
