Decent but requires tuning
The nozzle itself is solid hardware, but I had to recalibrate my extruder steps and temperature settings to get optimal results. Once tuned, it works well, but don't expect it to be a direct drop-in replacement without some tweaking.

Survived abrasive materials
I run a lot of wood-fill and glow-in-the-dark filaments which are notorious for eating brass nozzles. This hardened steel version has lasted three times longer than my previous brass ones. Very satisfied with the durability.

Good value clone
Works just as well as the original E3D nozzles I've used in the past but at a fraction of the cost. Installation was straightforward on my V6 hotend. Only giving 4 stars because the threading felt slightly tighter than expected, but it seated fine once tightened.

Excellent high-flow performance
The CHT clone design allows me to push filament much faster without under-extrusion issues. I'm currently running PETG at higher speeds and the print quality remains sharp. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their throughput.

Great for carbon fiber prints
I switched to this hardened steel nozzle specifically for printing with carbon fiber filled PLA. It has held up perfectly after several spools without any signs of wear or widening of the orifice. The three-hole design really does seem to improve flow consistency.

Solid upgrade for beginners
As someone new to 3D printing, I wasn't sure if I needed a hardened nozzle, but after clogging two brass ones, I decided to try this. It's been reliable and easy to clean. The instructions could be clearer, but overall a good purchase.
Q: What is the actual hole size? Is it exactly 0.4mm?
A: The nominal size is 0.4mm. However, due to manufacturing tolerances inherent in hardened steel machining, there may be a slight variance of +/- 0.02mm. This does not typically affect print quality.
Q: Is this nozzle compatible with the E3D V6 Lite?
A: Yes, this nozzle features standard M6 threading and is fully compatible with both the standard E3D V6 and the V6 Lite hotends.
Q: How does the three-hole design improve printing?
A: The CHT (Capillary High-Temperature) style three-hole design splits the filament into three streams before merging them again. This increases the surface area contact with the hot zone, allowing for faster melting and higher flow rates without increasing temperature significantly.
Q: Does this come with a gasket or seal?
A: This package includes the nozzle and a small sample of thermal paste. It does not include a silicone sock or a separate gasket, as the metal-to-metal contact in the V6 heat block usually provides the seal. We recommend reusing your existing heat break seal or applying high-temperature tape if needed.
Q: Can I use this with PLA only, or do I need it for other materials?
A: While you can use it with PLA, hardened steel nozzles are primarily designed for abrasive filaments like carbon fiber, wood-fill, or metal-fill. For standard PLA, a brass nozzle is usually sufficient unless you require the high-flow benefits of the CHT design.
