Solid performance, minor connector issue
The DAC functionality is flawless. However, the header pins were slightly loose on my unit, requiring some careful soldering to ensure a stable connection with the DE2 expansion port.

Great hardware, needs better examples
The build quality is excellent and the dual-channel output is clean. I deducted one star because the provided Verilog examples are very basic; you will need to write your own testbenches for complex waveforms.

Q: Does this module come with the DE2 board included?
A: No, this listing is for the AD9767 DAC module only. The DE2 FPGA development board must be purchased separately.
Q: Does this support I2C configuration for the internal registers?
A: The AD9767 primarily uses parallel control pins for mode selection. While it has serial interface capability, the current breakout board exposes the parallel control lines for easier FPGA interfacing.
Q: Can I drive this DAC using a Cyclone V instead of Cyclone II?
A: Yes, it is compatible with other FPGAs provided they support the required parallel interface timing and voltage levels, though you will need to adapt the pin constraints file yourself.
Q: What is the maximum frequency of the sine wave I can generate?
A: According to Nyquist theorem, you can theoretically generate signals up to 62.5 MHz, but for high fidelity, we recommend staying below 40% of the sampling rate (approx. 50 MHz).
