Excellent improvement over older versions
The included pin headers are a huge plus; no soldering required to get started. The data cable provided is also of good quality. Highly recommended for rapid prototyping.

Good board, minor pin labeling issue
The functionality is excellent and WiFi range is decent. However, the silk screen labeling for some GPIO pins is slightly hard to read. Otherwise, a solid choice for beginners.

Solid performance
Stable connection and good processing speed for simple tasks. It does get slightly warm during prolonged WiFi usage, but nothing concerning. Works as advertised.

Best bang for your buck
Compared to other development boards in this category, the UNO R3 ESP8266 offers incredible features at this price point. The build quality feels durable too.
Q: Does this board support 5V logic levels?
A: No, the ESP8266 operates at 3.3V logic levels. Applying 5V directly to the GPIO pins may damage the board. Please use a level shifter if connecting to 5V sensors.
Q: Is this compatible with the NodeMCU firmware?
A: Yes, this hardware is fully compatible with NodeMCU firmware and can be flashed using standard flashing tools available online.
Q: What is the maximum current draw for the 3.3V pin?
A: The onboard regulator can supply approximately 200mA to 300mA at 3.3V. For high-power peripherals, please use an external power source.
Q: Can I power this board via the VIN pin?
A: Yes, you can supply external power through the VIN pin, typically between 5V and 12V, though we recommend 5V via USB for stable operation during programming.
Q: Is the CH340 driver included in the package?
A: The physical driver chip is on the board, but the software driver must be downloaded and installed on your computer. Links are provided in the product manual.
