Good value but needs calibration
The hardware quality is solid for the price. However, be prepared to spend some time calibrating it with standard solutions to get accurate ppm readings. Once calibrated, it works as expected for educational projects.

Works well after initial troubleshooting

Perfect for my hydroponic setup

Q: What is the maximum depth the probe can be submerged?
A: The probe can be fully submerged up to the junction where the cable meets the probe body. Do not submerge the cable connection point or the wire itself to prevent water ingress and short circuits.
Q: Can I use this with a 3.3V logic board like ESP32?
A: Yes, the module operates on a voltage range of 3.3V to 5V. The analog output will scale accordingly, so you can directly connect it to the ADC pins of an ESP32 or similar 3.3V microcontrollers.
Q: Does this come with calibration powder or solution?
A: No, the package includes the sensor module and probe only. You will need to purchase standard TDS calibration solutions (usually 1413 ppm or 342 ppm) separately to ensure accurate measurements.
Q: How often does the probe need replacement?
A: Under normal usage conditions, the titanium alloy probe is quite durable and can last 6 to 12 months. Replacement frequency depends on the water chemistry and how frequently the sensor is cleaned and maintained.
Q: Is this sensor waterproof or just the probe?
A: Only the probe tip is designed to be submerged in water. The main PCB board and electronics are not waterproof and should be kept dry or housed in a protective enclosure.
