Excellent value for money
Compared to other dev boards with similar voice processing capabilities, this is incredibly affordable. It handles wake-word detection locally without needing cloud APIs, which was a key requirement for my privacy-focused project.

Solid performance for prototyping
I used this to prototype a smart lighting controller. The latency is low, and the voice recognition accuracy is high in quiet environments. In very noisy rooms, you might need to tune the sensitivity parameters.

Beginner friendly

Great hardware, documentation could be better
The hardware quality is excellent and the echo cancellation is effective. However, some of the Python examples in the repository were slightly outdated. Once I figured out the dependencies, it worked flawlessly.

Perfect for Raspberry Pi voice projects
This board integrated seamlessly with my Raspberry Pi 4. The beamforming works surprisingly well for a two-mic setup, picking up commands clearly even with background TV noise. Setup took about 20 minutes following the wiki.

Good integration with ROS
We are using this on a small service robot. The I2S output is clean, and integrating it with ROS nodes was straightforward. The only downside is the limited range compared to 4-mic arrays, but expected for the size.
