Best SBC I've owned
Upgraded from an older Pi model and the difference is night and day. Video decoding is flawless, and it stays cool even under load with a decent heatsink.

Solid home server replacement
Running Docker containers, Home Assistant, and a media server simultaneously. No lag whatsoever. The build quality feels premium compared to other boards in this category.

Great hardware, documentation needs work
Hardware is top-notch with 8K output working perfectly on my monitor. However, finding specific pinout diagrams for some peripheral interfaces took some digging. Still recommended.

Incredible performance for the price
The RK3588S chip is a beast. I'm running Ubuntu smoothly and the 6T NPU handles my object detection models without breaking a sweat. Great board for AI projects.

Perfect for edge computing robots
Used this for a mobile robot project. The dual LAN ports are a lifesaver for separating control traffic from sensor data. Boot times are impressively fast with an NVMe drive.
Q: Can I run Windows 11 on this development board?
A: Officially, the board supports Android 12, Ubuntu, Debian, and Buildroot. While ARM versions of Windows exist, they are not officially supported or optimized for this specific hardware configuration.
Q: Does the package include a power adapter and case?
A: No, the package typically includes only the development board. Power adapters, cases, heatsinks, and cables must be purchased separately to suit your specific project needs.
Q: What is the maximum resolution supported via HDMI?
A: The HDMI 2.1 port supports up to 8K resolution at 60Hz. It is also backward compatible with 4K at higher refresh rates depending on your display capabilities.
Q: Is the M.2 slot keyed for NVMe SSDs only?
A: Yes, the M.2 slot is specifically designed for NVMe SSDs (M-Key) to ensure high-speed storage performance. SATA M.2 drives are not supported in this slot.
Q: Does this board support PoE (Power over Ethernet)?
A: The Orange Pi 5 PRO does not have built-in PoE support on the standard board. However, you can use a HAT or adapter via the GPIO pins to add PoE functionality if required.
