Reliable for asset tracking
Implemented this in a small warehouse prototype. It handles multipath interference much better than Bluetooth beacons. Very satisfied with the purchase.

Excellent precision for robotics projects
I used this board for an autonomous robot navigation system. The 10cm accuracy claim holds up well in a controlled indoor environment. Setup with STM32 was straightforward using the provided SDK.

Great hardware, steep learning curve
The module itself is high quality and the range is impressive. However, be prepared to dig deep into the documentation if you are new to UWB technology. Not a plug-and-play solution for beginners.

Good but requires external antenna tuning
The board works, but I had to spend extra time optimizing the antenna placement for my specific enclosure to get the advertised range. Good for experts, maybe tricky for casual hobbyists.

Perfect for academic research

Solid performance, good documentation
Works as advertised. The SPI interface is fast and reliable. I deducted one star because the example code could use more comments for complex TDOA configurations.
Q: Is there a Python library available for this module?
A: While the primary SDK is in C, the community has developed several Python wrappers that communicate via the UART interface. You can find links to these repositories in our developer forum.
Q: What is the maximum operating range indoors?
A: In typical indoor office environments with line-of-sight, you can expect ranges up to 200 meters. In non-line-of-sight conditions with many obstacles, the effective range is usually between 30 to 50 meters while maintaining high precision.
Q: Does it support Two-Way Ranging (TWR)?
A: Absolutely. The BU04 supports both Single-Sided and Double-Sided Two-Way Ranging (SS-TWR and DS-TWR), which are essential for high-accuracy distance measurements between tags and anchors.
Q: Does this board come with antennas included?
A: Yes, the BU04 development board includes onboard PCB antennas suitable for general testing. For specialized applications, external antenna connectors are available on certain variants.
Q: Can this module work with Arduino Uno?
A: Yes, it is compatible with Arduino Uno via the SPI interface. However, due to memory constraints on the Uno, we recommend using an Arduino Mega or an ESP32 for more complex positioning algorithms.
