Excellent precision for indoor projects
I used this board for a warehouse tracking prototype and the 10cm accuracy is spot on. The documentation provided by Ai-Thinker made integration straightforward.

Reliable for industrial testing
We are evaluating this for asset tracking in our facility. The build quality is solid, and the signal penetration through drywall is better than expected for this price point.

Good value for university projects
Bought this for my senior design project. It delivers on the high-precision promise. Just wish the example code had more comments for those new to UWB technology.

Perfect for robot localization
Integrated two of these onto my autonomous rover. The Two-Way Ranging (TWR) feature is stable even with minor obstacles in the room. Highly recommended for robotics.

Great hardware, steep learning curve
The module itself works flawlessly once configured. However, beginners should be prepared to dig into the DW1000 datasheet as the setup requires some specific timing adjustments.
Q: What is the maximum ranging distance for this module?
A: In ideal line-of-sight conditions, the module can achieve ranging up to approximately 450 meters, though indoor environments typically see effective ranges of 30-50 meters depending on obstacles.
Q: Do you provide sample code for TWR implementation?
A: Yes, we provide a GitHub repository with C-based example firmware demonstrating Two-Way Ranging (TWR) specifically for the DW1000 chipset used in this board.
Q: Is this compatible with Arduino or ESP32?
A: Yes, the module uses a standard SPI interface and operates at 3.3V logic levels, making it fully compatible with ESP32 and Arduino boards (using 3.3V variants).
Q: Does this module come with antennas included?
A: Yes, the BU03 board features an integrated on-board PCB antenna, so no external antenna purchase is required for standard operation.
Q: Can I use this for outdoor positioning?
A: While primarily optimized for indoor use, it can function outdoors. However, accuracy may vary due to multipath effects and lack of reflective surfaces that aid indoor algorithms.
