Exceptional tone for the price

I purchased the 406mm model for my daughter who is advancing in her studies. The European materials really make a difference in the warmth of the sound. It arrived well-packaged and setup was perfect right out of the box.

Excellent value for European materials

As a luthier myself, I can appreciate the quality of the wood selection here. The spruce top is evenly grained and the maple back has nice flame. For the price point, you cannot find better European materials elsewhere.

Perfect upgrade from student model

Switching from a factory-made student viola to this handcrafted Taishi was a night and day difference. The projection in the lower register is rich and clear. Highly recommend the 420mm size for adults with longer arms.

Great handcrafted instrument

The craftsmanship on this Taishi viola is impressive. The varnish is beautiful and the wood grain is tight. I deducted one star only because the bridge needed slight adjustment to match my playing style, but that is normal for any new instrument.

Beautiful aesthetics and sound

Not only does this viola sound professional, but it looks stunning. The oil varnish gives it a deep, antique look. The ebony fittings are smooth and the pegs turn easily. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Solid choice for intermediate players

This is a very responsive instrument. It speaks easily even in the higher positions. The case included is sturdy enough for local travel. My only wish is that it came with a slightly higher quality bow, but the instrument itself is fantastic.
