Perfect for my Arduino project
This SR602 module is incredibly small and fits perfectly into my compact enclosure. The sensitivity is great, and it detected motion reliably from about 4 meters away. Easy to wire up with just VCC, GND, and OUT.

Tiny but mighty
I was surprised by how small this is compared to the standard HC-SR501. It consumes very little power, which is crucial for my battery-operated robot. Highly recommended for embedded systems.

Works, but range is limited
The sensor works as described, but don't expect long-range detection like larger modules. For close proximity tasks (under 3 meters), it is excellent. Just manage your expectations regarding distance.

Great for beginners
Very straightforward to use. I connected it to a simple relay module and an LED strip. No complex coding required if you just want a basic motion-activated switch. Instructions online are plentiful.

Good value but needs calibration
Works well once you tweak the two potentiometers on the back. Initially, it was too sensitive to ambient heat changes, but after adjusting the delay and sensitivity, it works flawlessly for my hallway light.

Solid performance
Used this to automate a pet feeder. The form factor allowed me to hide it easily inside the casing. It has been running for three weeks without any false triggers. Good build quality.
Q: Can this sensor detect motion through glass?
A: No, PIR sensors generally cannot detect infrared radiation through standard glass as it blocks the specific wavelengths required for detection. You would need to mount it with a clear line of sight or use a specialized IR-transmissive window.
Q: Does this come with a Fresnel lens?
A: Yes, the module comes pre-assembled with a small white dome Fresnel lens attached directly over the pyroelectric sensor element. This lens focuses the infrared energy onto the sensor to improve detection angles.
Q: How do I adjust the detection distance?
A: You can adjust the sensitivity using the smaller potentiometer labeled 'S' on the board. Turning it clockwise usually increases sensitivity (and effective range), while counter-clockwise decreases it. Note that physical obstructions and ambient temperature also affect range.
Q: What is the difference between H and L trigger modes?
A: In 'H' (Repeatable) mode, the output stays high as long as motion is continuously detected. In 'L' (Unrepeatable) mode, once triggered, the output goes high for the set delay time regardless of whether motion continues, ignoring new triggers during that block time.
