Robust fault detection
I intentionally tested the open-circuit detection by disconnecting the probe, and the module flagged the error instantly. This feature saves a lot of debugging time in production environments.

Professional grade performance
Using this in a university lab setup. The noise rejection is excellent, and the conversion time is very quick. Great alternative to more expensive industrial modules.

Perfect for precise temperature logging
This module works flawlessly with my Arduino project. The SPI communication is stable, and the readings are consistent compared to my calibrated thermometer. Highly recommended for DIY data loggers.

Good value, minor wiring confusion
The sensor itself is accurate and fast. The only reason for 4 stars is that the pinout diagram on the back was slightly hard to read. Once wired correctly, it performs exactly as expected.

Works but needs 3.3V logic
Make sure you use a 3.3V logic level shifter if your microcontroller is 5V. I initially got noisy readings until I realized the voltage mismatch. Once fixed, it works well.
Q: Is there a Python library available for Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, there are several open-source Python libraries available on GitHub specifically designed for the MAX31865 and Raspberry Pi GPIO. Check our documentation page for links.
Q: Can I use this with a 5V Arduino Uno directly?
A: The MAX31865 operates at 3.3V. While some users report success connecting directly, we strongly recommend using a logic level shifter for the SPI lines to ensure long-term reliability and accurate readings.
Q: What is the maximum wire length for the sensor probe?
A: For best results, keep the wire length under 3 meters. If you need longer distances, please use a 3-wire or 4-wire configuration to compensate for lead resistance.
Q: Does this module come with the PT100 probe included?
A: No, this listing is for the MAX31865 breakout board only. You will need to purchase a compatible PT100 or PT1000 sensor probe separately.
Q: Does it support both 2-wire and 4-wire RTDs?
A: Yes, the MAX31865 supports 2, 3, and 4-wire RTD configurations. You can select the mode by soldering the appropriate configuration jumpers on the board.
