Perfect for my automated greenhouse
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino setup. The large sensing area detects even light drizzle quickly, triggering the relay to close my roof vents. Very reliable.

Solid performance
Works as described. The relay clicks loudly which is fine for my garage setup but might be annoying indoors. Sensitivity is excellent once tuned.

Robust build quality
I've had this outside under a slight overhang for three months now. The nickel plating shows no signs of corrosion, and it triggers consistently when rain hits the board.

Good value, easy to calibrate
The potentiometer makes it very easy to adjust sensitivity so it doesn't trigger on humidity alone. Only wish the connection wires were a bit longer.

Exceeded expectations
Very responsive to water contact. I use it to retract my awning automatically, and it has saved my furniture from getting soaked multiple times already.
Q: How do I mount this outdoors securely?
A: The PCB comes with four pre-drilled mounting holes. We recommend using standoffs to elevate the board slightly and ensuring the sensing surface is exposed to the sky while protecting the electronics from direct pooling water.
Q: Does this work with 3.3V logic systems like some ESP32 boards?
A: While the sensor operates at 5V or 12V, the digital output is usually compatible with 3.3V systems. However, we recommend using a logic level converter if you encounter stability issues.
Q: Can this sensor distinguish between heavy rain and just morning dew?
A: Yes, the module features an adjustable potentiometer that allows you to set the sensitivity threshold. You can tune it to ignore light condensation while still detecting significant rainfall.
Q: What is the maximum current the relay can handle?
A: The integrated relay is typically rated for up to 10A at 250VAC or 10A at 30VDC. Please ensure your load does not exceed these specifications for safe operation.
Q: Is the relay module included in the package or sold separately?
A: The package includes both the raindrop sensor board and the corresponding relay control module, so you have everything needed to start building your circuit immediately.
