Solid build quality
The PCB looks professional and the components are soldered neatly. I've been running this continuously for a week on a prototype without any issues. Definitely buying more for my next batch of sensors.

Easy to integrate
As a beginner, I was worried about wiring this up, but the labels on the PCB are very clear. VCC, GND, and DO made it simple. The tutorial code found online worked immediately. Great product for learning.

Perfect for my Arduino robot
This sensor module worked flawlessly right out of the box. The digital output is clean and easy to read with standard Arduino libraries. I used it for an obstacle avoidance project, and the detection range is easily adjustable with the onboard potentiometer.

Reliable and compact
I've tested several laser sensors, and this Keyes module offers excellent consistency. The form factor is small enough to fit on tight breadboards. Highly recommended for anyone starting with Raspberry Pi GPIO projects.

Good sensitivity adjustment
The potentiometer allows for fine-tuning the detection distance, which is crucial for different lighting conditions. Works well indoors. Just ensure you don't exceed 5V input or you might damage the module.

Great value for students
Bought a pack for my son's science fair project. It connects easily to the micro:bit using alligator clips. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the included pins were not pre-soldered, but that's expected at this price point.
Q: Do I need any external resistors to connect this to an Arduino?
A: No external resistors are needed. The module has built-in circuitry. You simply connect VCC to 5V, GND to Ground, and the DO pin to any digital input pin on your Arduino.
Q: What is the maximum detection range?
A: The range depends on the surface reflectivity and ambient light, but typically it can detect objects between 2cm to 20cm away. You can adjust this using the blue potentiometer on the board.
Q: Can I power this directly from a 3.3V Raspberry Pi pin?
A: While the logic output is generally compatible, the module is designed for 5V operation. For best stability and laser brightness, we recommend powering the VCC pin from the 5V rail on the Raspberry Pi.
Q: Is the laser safe for eyes?
A: The module uses a low-power Class 2 laser. While generally safe for brief accidental exposure, you should never stare directly into the beam or point it at anyone's eyes intentionally.
Q: Does this module output analog or digital signals?
A: This specific model outputs a digital signal (HIGH/LOW) based on whether the laser beam is interrupted or reflected. It does not provide an analog distance measurement.
