Fast integration time
The SDK provided by Hi-Link made the software integration much faster than expected. The module wakes up quickly from sleep mode, which is crucial for battery-powered locks. Minor issue with initial calibration but support helped resolve it.

Excellent reliability for smart lock projects
Integrated this ZW3020 module into a custom smart door lock prototype. The capacitive sensing is very responsive, even with slightly dry fingers. The UART communication was straightforward to implement with our microcontroller.

Good value for the price point
Solid performance for the cost. Recognition speed is fast as advertised. Only giving 4 stars because the documentation could be more detailed regarding the encryption standards, but the hardware itself works well.
Q: What operating systems are supported for the configuration tool?
A: Our configuration and testing tools are currently available for Windows 10/11. Linux drivers and source code examples are available upon request for enterprise customers.
Q: Does this module support live finger detection to prevent spoofing?
A: Yes, the ZW3020 includes algorithmic live finger detection to distinguish between real fingerprints and fake materials like silicone or paper.
Q: Can I enroll fingerprints directly without a host MCU?
A: No, the module requires a host microcontroller to manage the enrollment process and send the necessary commands via the serial interface.
Q: What is the maximum cable length recommended for the UART connection?
A: For stable communication at standard baud rates, we recommend keeping the cable length under 30cm. For longer distances, please use shielded cables or level shifters.
Q: Is there a waterproof version of this specific sensor available?
A: The ZW3020 itself is not waterproof. However, it can be protected by designing a proper IP-rated enclosure or using a protective membrane over the sensor surface in your final product design.
