Excellent documentation support
Hi-Link provides decent protocol documentation which made integration into my Home Assistant setup straightforward. The Bluetooth configuration on the LD2410B model is a huge plus for quick testing without wiring.

Good hardware, steep learning curve
The module itself seems high quality, but if you aren't familiar with UART communication or hex commands, the initial setup can be confusing. I wish there was a simpler plug-and-play mode for beginners.

Perfect for Home Automation
This sensor is incredibly sensitive. I integrated it with my ESP32 project to control lights, and it detects even slight breathing movements when I'm sitting still reading. Much better than standard PIR sensors.

Solved our conference room lighting issue
We installed these in small meeting rooms where people sit still for long periods. Traditional motion sensors kept turning the lights off, but this radar module keeps them on as long as someone is present. Highly recommended.

Great range but needs calibration
The detection range is impressive, easily covering my entire hallway. However, you need to spend some time configuring the sensitivity gates via the serial port to avoid false triggers from ceiling fans. Once tuned, it works flawlessly.

Reliable presence detection
Using this for a low-power security alert system. It distinguishes well between static objects and human presence. The only downside is that thick walls can attenuate the signal, so placement is key.
Q: What is the difference between LD2410B and LD2410C?
A: The LD2410B includes Bluetooth functionality for wireless configuration via a mobile app, whereas the LD2410C relies solely on UART wired connection for parameter settings. Detection performance is identical.
Q: Can this sensor detect humans through a thin wooden door?
A: While 24GHz radar can penetrate some non-metallic materials like drywall or thin wood, detection reliability decreases significantly with density and thickness. For best results, we recommend line-of-sight installation.
Q: Can I adjust the detection distance to ignore pets?
A: Yes, you can configure the detection gates to limit the range. While it cannot specifically identify 'pets' vs 'humans' by species, limiting the range to above floor level or reducing sensitivity can help minimize pet-triggered events.
Q: Does this module work outdoors in the rain?
A: The raw module is not waterproof. If you plan to use it outdoors, you must house it in an IP65-rated enclosure. Note that plastic enclosures may slightly reduce detection range.
Q: Is a separate library required for Arduino integration?
A: No specific library is mandatory. You can communicate using standard Serial functions by sending the hexadecimal command packets described in the datasheet. However, several community-made libraries are available on GitHub.
