Reliable and stable
Been running this for three weeks straight monitoring a chemical tank. No drift in readings and it handles foam on the surface better than ultrasonic sensors I've tried previously.

Excellent precision for tank monitoring
I used this module to monitor water levels in a rainwater harvesting system. The non-contact feature is perfect because there is no risk of corrosion or electrical shorts. Setup was straightforward with the UART interface.

Good value for money
For the price point, the accuracy is impressive. It struggles slightly with very turbulent liquids, but for static or slow-moving tanks, it is spot on. The 24GHz frequency penetrates plastic containers well.

Superior to ultrasonic alternatives
We switched from ultrasonic to this radar module to avoid issues with temperature changes affecting sound speed. The radar consistency is much higher, and the response time is incredibly fast.

Great sensor, needs calibration
The LD2413 works very well once you tune the parameters. Out of the box, it detected my hand movements too easily, but after adjusting the sensitivity via the config tool, it locks onto liquid levels perfectly.
Q: How do I update the firmware or configuration settings?
A: You can configure parameters such as range gates and sensitivity using our PC-based configuration tool connected via a USB-to-TTL adapter.
Q: Does it come with example code for Arduino or ESP32?
A: Yes, we provide sample libraries and code examples for both Arduino and ESP32 platforms on our official GitHub repository and documentation page.
Q: What is the maximum distance this module can measure accurately?
A: The LD2413 is optimized for short-to-medium range detection, with a reliable maximum range of approximately 5 meters depending on the target reflectivity.
Q: Can this sensor detect levels through a plastic tank wall?
A: Yes, the 24GHz radar waves can penetrate non-metallic materials like plastic or glass, allowing for completely external mounting without drilling holes.
Q: Is this module suitable for detecting volatile chemicals?
A: Since it is a non-contact radar sensor, it is safe for volatile chemicals as long as the container material is non-metallic. The sensor itself does not touch the substance.
