Excellent for engineering materials
I primarily print in Polycarbonate and Nylon. This hotend maintains stable temperatures even at 280°C. The bimetallic design really prevents the filament from softening too early in the heat break.

Works as advertised

Good quality, slight fitment adjustment needed
The build quality feels solid. I had to tighten the mounting screws a bit more than expected to get a perfect seal, but once installed, it handles high-temperature filaments without any heat creep.

A: Installation typically takes 15-20 minutes. It requires removing the fan shroud, disconnecting the heater and thermistor wires, unscrewing the old hotend, and reversing the steps with the new unit. Basic tools are included.
Q: What is the difference between this and the stock hotend?
A: The key difference is the bimetallic tube design. It combines the corrosion resistance of stainless steel where the filament touches with the superior thermal conductivity of copper alloy on the outside, resulting in better temperature stability and reduced clogging.
Q: Is this hotend compatible with the QIDI X-Max 3?
A: This specific model is designed primarily for the Plus 4, X-Max, and X-Pro series. While it may physically fit the X-Max 3, we recommend checking the wiring harness length and connector type before purchasing for that specific newer model.
