Excellent for engineering materials
I primarily print in Polycarbonate and Nylon. This hotend maintains stable temperatures even at 280°C. The bimetallic design really prevents the filament from softening too early in the heat break.

Works as advertised
Straightforward swap. The thermal conductivity seems improved compared to my old worn-out unit. Took off one star only because the included wrench felt a bit flimsy, but the hotend itself is great.

Reliable and durable
Been running this for three months now with zero clogs. It's a significant upgrade over the stock all-metal hotend if you are experiencing consistency issues. Highly recommended for QIDI owners.

Perfect replacement for my Plus 4
My original hotend started clogging frequently with ABS prints. This bimetallic replacement solved the issue immediately. Installation was straightforward, and the print quality is back to factory standards.

Restored my printer to life
My X-Pro was unusable due to constant jams. This compatible hotend fixed it instantly. Great value for money considering the cost of buying a whole new heater block assembly elsewhere.

Good quality, slight fitment adjustment needed
The build quality feels solid. I had to tighten the mounting screws a bit more than expected to get a perfect seal, but once installed, it handles high-temperature filaments without any heat creep.
Q: How difficult is the installation process?
A: Installation typically takes 15-20 minutes. It requires removing the fan shroud, disconnecting the heater and thermistor wires, unscrewing the old hotend, and reversing the steps with the new unit. Basic tools are included.
Q: What is the difference between this and the stock hotend?
A: The key difference is the bimetallic tube design. It combines the corrosion resistance of stainless steel where the filament touches with the superior thermal conductivity of copper alloy on the outside, resulting in better temperature stability and reduced clogging.
Q: Is this hotend compatible with the QIDI X-Max 3?
A: This specific model is designed primarily for the Plus 4, X-Max, and X-Pro series. While it may physically fit the X-Max 3, we recommend checking the wiring harness length and connector type before purchasing for that specific newer model.
Q: Does this come with a nozzle installed?
A: Yes, the unit comes pre-assembled with a standard 0.4mm brass nozzle installed and tested at the factory.
Q: Can this handle TPU filament without jamming?
A: Yes, the bimetallic construction provides excellent thermal isolation, which is crucial for flexible filaments like TPU. It minimizes the risk of heat creep that often causes jams in soft materials.
