Good product for the price

Perfect for abrasive filaments
I switched to this hardened steel nozzle specifically for printing with carbon fiber PLA. It has held up perfectly after several spools without any signs of wear or widening of the aperture. Highly recommended for anyone moving beyond standard plastics.

Great quality, slightly tricky install
The build quality is excellent and the machining is precise. Just be careful when installing; because it is hardened steel, you need to ensure your hotend block is hot enough to avoid stripping threads, but overall a solid upgrade.

Lasts much longer than brass
I was going through brass nozzles every few weeks due to wood-fill filament. This Mellow nozzle has lasted three months so far with zero degradation in print quality. Worth every penny.

Consistent flow rate
The internal bore is very smooth and consistent. I noticed immediately that my extrusion became more uniform, especially on detailed prints. No clogging issues whatsoever.

Essential upgrade
If you plan on printing anything abrasive, do not hesitate. This nozzle pays for itself by saving you from buying multiple brass replacements. The finish on the prints remains sharp and detailed.
Q: Will this improve bridging performance compared to brass?
A: The primary benefit is durability against abrasion. While the precision machining ensures good flow which aids bridging, the material change itself does not inherently improve thermal conductivity for bridging like a copper-coated nozzle might. It maintains standard performance levels with added longevity.
Q: What is the exact hardness rating of the steel used?
A: The nozzle is made from hardened steel treated to withstand abrasive filaments like carbon fiber and glass-filled polymers. Specific Rockwell hardness ratings are proprietary, but it is significantly harder than standard brass nozzles.
Q: Can I use this nozzle with PLA at standard temperatures?
A: Yes, absolutely. While hardened steel nozzles are often used for high-temperature or abrasive materials, they work perfectly fine with standard PLA at typical printing temperatures (190°C - 220°C).
Q: Is this nozzle compatible with a Creality CR-10 stock hotend?
A: This nozzle is designed for E3D V6 style hotends. If your CR-10 uses a genuine or clone E3D V6 hotend with an M6 thread, it will fit. However, some older CR-10 models use a different threaded insert, so please verify your hotend type before purchasing.
