Perfect for IoT beginners
This board works flawlessly out of the box. The CH340 driver installed easily on Windows 10, and I was able to upload my first sketch within minutes. Great value for the price.

Solid performance, minor pin labeling issue
The WiFi connectivity is stable and the build quality is good. One of the silk screen labels for the GPIO pins was slightly misaligned, but it didn't affect functionality. Recommended for prototyping.

Good board, needs external antenna for long range
For indoor use, the onboard antenna is sufficient. If you need longer range, you might want to look for a version with an external antenna connector. Otherwise, excellent processing speed for the cost.
Q: What is the maximum current draw for the 3.3V pin?
A: The onboard regulator can supply approximately 600mA, but it is recommended to keep the load under 500mA to prevent overheating. For high-power devices, use an external power source.
Q: Does it come with headers pre-soldered?
A: No, the board typically comes without headers pre-soldered to allow for flexible mounting options. You will need to solder your own male or female headers depending on your project needs.
Q: Which driver do I need for Mac OS?
A: For Mac OS, you usually need the CH340 or CH341 serial driver. Most modern macOS versions may recognize it automatically, but if not, you can download the driver from the manufacturer's website.
Q: Is this board compatible with the Arduino IDE?
A: Yes, this ESP8266 board is fully compatible with the Arduino IDE. You simply need to add the ESP8266 board manager URL to your preferences and install the respective package.
Q: Can I power this board via the VIN pin instead of USB?
A: Yes, you can power the board via the VIN pin with a 5V DC source. Ensure the polarity is correct to avoid damaging the board.
