Great hardware, minor cable issue
The core board itself is fantastic with plenty of resources for complex projects. The only reason for 4 stars is that the included USB cable felt a bit flimsy, but the board performance is top-notch.

Perfect for learning FPGA development
This board is exactly what I needed to get started with Xilinx Artix-7. The documentation provided by Wildfire is comprehensive and easy to follow. All example projects compiled without issues in Vivado.

Beginner friendly despite being powerful

Best bang for your buck
As a university student, budget is tight. This board offers incredible features for the price. The DDR3 memory implementation examples were particularly helpful for my thesis project.

Excellent value for industrial prototyping
We used this for a quick proof-of-concept in an industrial control application. The FMC connector made it easy to interface with our custom sensors. Highly recommended for professionals.
Q: Does this board come with a pre-installed bitstream?
A: Yes, the board ships with a basic demo bitstream that tests the LEDs, switches, and DDR3 memory. You can easily overwrite it with your own design via USB-JTAG.
Q: Is the source code for the DDR3 controller included?
A: Absolutely. The download package includes full Verilog/VHDL source code for the DDR3 migration and controller examples, along with constraint files.
Q: What version of Vivado is recommended?
A: We recommend using Vivado 2018.3 or later for full compatibility with all provided IP cores and examples. Newer versions like 2022.x also work well.
Q: Can I power this board directly from a PC USB port?
A: Yes, the board is designed to be powered via the micro-USB port connected to a standard PC or a 5V USB adapter. It draws within standard USB current limits during normal operation.
Q: Are there expansion modules available for camera interfaces?
A: Yes, since the board features an FMC connector, you can use various FMC-compatible camera modules. We also sell a specific MIPI CSI-2 daughterboard compatible with this core.
