Ideal for learning embedded systems
Bought this for my university project. It works perfectly with Arduino IDE and MicroPython. The display library examples provided by Waveshare got me started immediately.

Great value, minor documentation gaps
Hardware quality is excellent for the price. The ESP32-S3 chip handles multitasking well. Only downside is that some pinout diagrams in the wiki could be clearer for beginners.

Compact and powerful
Using this to control my smart home sensors. The Bluetooth LE range is impressive, and the small form factor fits easily into custom 3D printed enclosures.

Perfect for IoT Prototyping
This board is fantastic. The built-in screen saves so much time when debugging without needing an external monitor. Wi-Fi connection is stable and the USB-C port makes programming a breeze.

Solid performance
Very responsive board. The 8MB PSRAM is a huge plus for graphics-heavy applications on the small screen. Would recommend adding a battery connector in the next revision.

Exceeded expectations
Fast shipping and the board arrived well-packaged. Setup took less than 10 minutes. The color accuracy on the LCD is surprisingly good for this price point.
Q: Is there a reset button on the board?
A: Yes, there is a dedicated RST button located near the USB port to easily reboot the microcontroller.
Q: Does the display support touch input?
A: No, this specific model features a 1.14-inch IPS LCD display but does not include touch functionality.
Q: Can I power this board with a 3.7V LiPo battery directly?
A: The board is designed to be powered via the USB Type-C port (5V). While there are GPIO pins for battery monitoring, direct LiPo connection to the main power rail is not recommended without an external regulator circuit.
Q: What communication protocols does the screen use?
A: The onboard LCD communicates with the ESP32-S3 via the SPI interface.
