Solid for industrial HMI prototypes
We are using these for initial HMI prototypes in our control panels. The build quality feels durable, and the touch accuracy is good. Just wish it had a wider voltage input range for direct industrial power connections, but a regulator solves that.

Excellent value for money
I've used several ESP32 display boards, and this one offers the best balance of screen size, resolution, and processing power. The 8MB PSRAM makes a huge difference when rendering complex UIs. Highly recommended!

Beautiful display quality
The colors on this IPS screen are vibrant. I made a weather station interface, and the graphics look professional. The capacitive touch feels just like a smartphone screen. Fast shipping too!

Perfect for LVGL Projects
This board is exactly what I needed for my smart home dashboard project. The LVGL library integration is seamless, and the capacitive touch is very responsive. The 1.47-inch screen is crisp and bright enough for indoor use.

Easy to get started with Arduino
As someone relatively new to embedded systems, I was worried about the setup. But the Arduino IDE support worked out of the box after installing the board manager. The example codes for the touchscreen were very helpful.

Great hardware, documentation could be better
The hardware quality is top-notch as expected from Waveshare. The ESP32-S3 handles graphics smoothly. However, finding specific pinout details for the I2C connection took some digging in the wiki. Overall, a solid buy for prototyping.
Q: Can I power this board with a 3.7V LiPo battery directly?
A: No, you should not connect a LiPo battery directly to the 5V pin. This board is designed to be powered via the USB Type-C port (5V). If you need battery operation, please use a dedicated battery module with a boost converter to 5V or check our accessory battery hats.
Q: What is the brightness level of the screen?
A: The display has a typical brightness of 500 nits, which ensures good visibility in well-lit indoor environments.
