Solid performance, minor pin labeling issue
The chip performance is excellent for dual-core tasks. My only complaint is that some GPIO pin labels on the silkscreen are a bit small to read without a magnifier. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Reliable for Home Automation
Running this as a smart home controller. It stays connected to my router days without dropping. Deducted one star because the included USB cable felt a bit flimsy, but the board itself is great.

Perfect for IoT Prototyping
This board works flawlessly right out of the box. The Wi-Fi connection is stable, and uploading code via the Arduino IDE was seamless. Great value for an original Espressif board.

Great for learning embedded systems

Best bang for your buck
Dual-core processing at this price point is unbeatable. I am using it for a data logging project with SD card storage, and the speed is more than adequate. Highly satisfied.

Genuine Espressif Quality
I've bought clones before that had driver issues, but this original WROOM-32E is rock solid. Bluetooth pairing works instantly, and the power consumption is efficient for battery projects.
Q: Does this board come with a pre-installed bootloader?
A: Yes, the board comes with a standard bootloader that allows you to upload sketches directly from the Arduino IDE without needing an external programmer.
Q: Can I power this board with a 9V battery?
A: Yes, you can connect a 9V battery to the VIN and GND pins. The onboard voltage regulator will step it down to the required 3.3V for the ESP32 chip.
Q: Is the CP2102 driver required for Windows 10?
A: Windows 10 usually installs the CP210x driver automatically. If not, you can easily download the official driver from the Silicon Labs website.
Q: What is the maximum current draw per GPIO pin?
A: Each GPIO pin can source or sink up to 40mA. However, the total current drawn from all pins combined should not exceed the limits specified in the ESP32 datasheet to avoid damaging the chip.
Q: Does this support Over-The-Air (OTA) updates?
A: Absolutely. The ESP32 WROOM-32E fully supports OTA updates, allowing you to update your firmware wirelessly via Wi-Fi once the initial sketch is uploaded.
