Professional grade indeed
I have been using Zhang Xiaofeng papers for years. This thickened version is excellent for cursive script where speed and ink flow matter. The surface is smooth yet provides enough resistance for precise control.

No bleed-through!
Finally found a semi-sized paper that doesn't bleed to the other side even with very liquid ink. My table stays clean, and I can use both sides if needed for rough drafts. Highly recommended.

Perfect for practicing regular script
The thickness of this paper is impressive. It handles wet ink very well without bleeding through, which gives me confidence when practicing heavy strokes. The jade-plate texture adds a nice feel to the brush.
Q: Is this paper suitable for water-only practice?
A: Yes, the thickened jade-plate surface works wonderfully with water-only brushes for reusable practice on dark mats, though it is primarily designed for ink.
Q: Does the paper come pre-printed with grids?
A: No, this specific 'Jade-Plate' edition is blank to allow for freeform creation and flexible layout practice. We do offer grid versions under a different product listing.
Q: Can I frame artwork created on this paper immediately?
A: We recommend letting the ink dry completely for at least 24 hours before mounting or framing to ensure the fibers settle and the ink sets permanently.
Q: How does the absorption compare to raw Xuan paper?
A: This is semi-sized (ban-shu), meaning it has moderate absorption. It spreads less than raw Xuan, offering more control for detailed strokes while still retaining the natural feel.

A: If stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture, the paper can last indefinitely without yellowing or degrading in quality.
