Does the job well

Solid industrial unit

Good build quality and the RS485 communication works well for logging data. The only reason for 4 stars is that the menu navigation takes a little getting used to, but once configured, it runs flawlessly.

Perfect for our warehouse monitoring

We installed six of these units in our cold storage facility. The 4-20mA output integrates seamlessly with our existing PLC system, and the digital display makes local checks very easy. Accuracy seems spot on compared to our calibrated handheld meters.

5 FAQ

Q: Does it support 2-wire or 3-wire 4-20mA connection?

A: The LEFOO transmitter supports a 2-wire loop-powered 4-20mA configuration. Please ensure your power supply voltage is sufficient to drive the loop load resistance.

Q: What is the length of the cable included with the sensor?

A: This wall-mounted transmitter does not include an external probe cable as the sensor element is internal to the housing. You will need to wire your power and signal cables to the terminal blocks inside the unit.

Q: Can I mount this outdoors in direct sunlight?

A: While the unit is IP65 rated for water and dust, we recommend installing it in a shaded area or using a sun shield if placed outdoors. Direct prolonged sunlight can affect the temperature reading accuracy due to solar heating of the housing.

Q: Can this device connect directly to a standard Arduino or Raspberry Pi?

A: Yes, you can connect via the RS485 interface using a MAX485 module for Raspberry Pi or Arduino. Please ensure you use the Modbus RTU protocol library to read the data registers.

Q: Is calibration possible if the readings drift over time?

A: Yes, the device features user-adjustable calibration offsets for both temperature and humidity through the button interface on the front panel. Refer to page 12 of the user manual for the step-by-step procedure.
