Compact and powerful

Don't let the size fool you. I sewed through a canvas bag without any issues. The LED light is bright enough to see dark fabrics clearly. Highly recommend for dorm rooms or small apartments.

Good for light to medium tasks

It works well for cotton and linens. When I tried very thick upholstery fabric, it struggled a bit despite the claims. For standard mending and crafting, it is excellent though.

Great value for beginners

Q: Is the foot pedal speed adjustable?

A: Yes, the speed is controlled by how much pressure you apply to the foot pedal. Gentle pressure results in slow stitching, while firmer pressure increases the speed.

Q: Does it come with a carrying case?

A: The standard package does not include a hard carrying case, but the machine is lightweight enough to be easily stored in a box or soft bag.

Q: How do I change the bobbin?

A: The Fanghua 519 uses a top-loading bobbin system. Simply lift the cover plate, remove the old bobbin, insert the new one following the direction arrow, and pull the thread through the slot.

Q: Can this machine sew through leather?

A: It can handle thin, soft leather suitable for crafts or clothing patches, but it is not recommended for heavy-duty leather like belts or bags.

Q: What type of needles does this use?

A: This machine uses standard household sewing machine needles (system 130/705 H). Universal needles size 90/14 are included and work well for most fabrics.
