Solid performance
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Detects magnetic fields and switches the output pin. I wish the connecting wires were pre-soldered, but soldering them myself wasn't difficult.

Reliable and compact
I integrated this into a custom 3D printed enclosure for a conveyor belt counter. The form factor is small enough to fit tight spaces, and the mounting holes are standard size. Very happy with the purchase.

Good value, clear instructions needed
The hardware quality is solid for the price. It detected magnets instantly. However, beginners might struggle slightly without a pinout diagram included in the package, but a quick online search solves that. Works great for speed detection.

Great for university projects

Perfect for Arduino RPM projects
This Hall sensor module worked flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. I used it to count the rotations of a small DC motor, and the output signal was clean and stable. The potentiometer makes it easy to adjust sensitivity for different magnet strengths.

Excellent sensitivity control
The onboard potentiometer allows for precise tuning. I was able to ignore weak background magnetic interference and only trigger on the specific neodymium magnet I attached to my gear. Highly recommended.
Q: Can this module work directly with a Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, since the module operates at 3.3V to 5V and provides a digital output, it is compatible with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins. Just ensure you connect the VCC to the 3.3V or 5V pin accordingly.
Q: What is the maximum detection distance for a standard magnet?
A: The detection distance depends on the strength of the magnet and the sensitivity setting via the potentiometer. Typically, with a standard neodymium magnet, it can detect within 10mm to 20mm.
Q: Can I use this to detect iron objects without a magnet?
A: No, this is a Hall Effect sensor designed specifically to detect magnetic fields. It will not detect non-magnetized iron or steel objects unless they are magnetized or used in conjunction with a magnet.
Q: Does this come with jumper wires?
A: The module typically comes as a standalone PCB without jumper wires. You will need to solder your own headers or wires to connect it to your microcontroller.
Q: Is the output HIGH or LOW when a magnet is detected?
A: By default, the output goes LOW when a magnet is detected and HIGH when no magnet is present. This logic can be inverted if you modify the circuit, but the standard configuration is active-low.
