Reliable but needs calibration check
Great sensor for the price point. I noticed a slight offset out of the box, but after performing the zero-calibration command specified in the docs, it has been spot on for weeks.

Perfect for industrial automation
We integrated this inclinometer into our conveyor belt monitoring system. The RS485 connection is stable over long distances, and the angle readings are consistent even in a dusty environment. Highly recommended for factory use.

Robust build quality
Installed this on an outdoor antenna positioning rig. It has survived rain, wind, and temperature swings without any drift. The aluminum housing feels very solid and the mounting holes are well-placed.

Excellent value for money
Compared to other dual-axis sensors we tested, the Huilian LIS326 offers the best balance of cost and performance. The wide voltage input range is a huge plus for our mobile equipment.

Easy to interface with PLC
Connected directly to our Siemens PLC using RS232. The ASCII output format made parsing the data straightforward. Response time is quick enough for our real-time control loop.

Good accuracy, documentation could be better
The sensor itself works great and provides precise dual-axis data. However, the manual for the Modbus register map was a bit sparse. Once we figured out the hex codes via trial and error, it worked flawlessly.
Q: Is there a USB version available or do I need a converter?
A: This specific model outputs RS232/RS485 signals. To connect to a PC via USB, you will need a standard USB-to-Serial or USB-to-RS485 converter adapter.
Q: What is the maximum cable length recommended for RS485 communication?
A: For reliable RS485 communication, we recommend a maximum cable length of 1200 meters, provided you use twisted pair shielded cable and proper termination resistors.
Q: Can this measure angles while the device is vibrating?
A: The sensor includes digital filtering to handle moderate vibration. For high-frequency vibration environments, we suggest enabling the advanced damping settings via the configuration tool to stabilize readings.
Q: What is the update rate of the sensor data?
A: The standard update rate is 50Hz. This can be adjusted down to 10Hz or 25Hz via command if lower bandwidth is required for your application.
Q: Does this sensor support Modbus RTU protocol out of the box?
A: Yes, the LIS326 supports Modbus RTU over RS485 by default. You can switch between ASCII and Modbus modes using the configuration software or serial commands.
