Works well but needs calibration
The sensor works, but you definitely need to spend time calibrating the potentiometer to get the right threshold. Once set, it stays consistent.

Compact and effective
Small footprint makes it easy to fit into tight enclosures. The gold plating on the contacts seems to resist corrosion well so far.

Good quality, easy to integrate
Used this for a simple irrigation system monitor. It connects easily to my ESP32. Only giving 4 stars because the soldering points are a bit small for thick wires.

Reliable and stable
I have three of these running in my basement for leak detection. They have been running for months without false positives. Highly recommended.

Great for school projects
Bought this for a university electronics project. The documentation online is plentiful, and the module itself is robust. Detected water levels instantly.

Perfect for my Arduino rain alarm
This sensor works exactly as described. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, allowing me to fine-tune when the alarm triggers. Great value for the price.
Q: Can I connect this directly to a Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, provided you power the module with 3.3V. If you power it with 5V, the digital output might be 5V, which could damage the Pi. Use a logic level shifter if powering at 5V.
Q: Is the cable included in the package?
A: No, the package includes only the sensor module. You will need to solder your own wires or purchase a compatible PH2.0 cable separately.
Q: What is the maximum current this module draws?
A: The module typically draws about 20mA when active. The power LED and the comparator chip account for most of this consumption.
Q: Can this sensor be used with saltwater?
A: While it can detect saltwater, prolonged exposure may cause corrosion on the contacts due to electrolysis. We recommend rinsing with fresh water after use or using a non-contact ultrasonic sensor for permanent saltwater applications.
Q: Does this module provide an analog output for varying water levels?
A: No, this specific module provides a digital output (High/Low) based on a threshold you set. If you need varying levels, please look for our analog water depth sensor models.
