Good value but probes need care
Great little module for the price. It detects moisture changes instantly. Just remember to wipe the probes dry after testing to prevent corrosion over time. Overall very satisfied.

Reliable digital output
The LM393 comparator provides a clean digital signal which makes coding the logic very straightforward. The build quality of the PCB is solid and the soldering points are clear.

Saved my indoor garden
I integrated this into a simple pump system for my ferns. It triggers the water pump exactly when the soil gets too dry. No more overwatering! Highly recommend for beginners.

Works as described
Does exactly what it says on the tin. The LED indicators are bright and helpful for debugging without needing a serial monitor. Would buy again for future projects.

Great for school projects
Bought this for a university automation assignment. It was easy to interface with our Raspberry Pi using an ADC. The documentation online is plentiful which helped a lot.

Perfect for my Arduino project
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, allowing me to calibrate it exactly for my potted plants. Setup took less than 10 minutes.
Q: What is the current consumption of this module?
A: The module typically consumes around 20mA when active. We recommend powering it via a transistor or MOSFET if running on battery power to extend battery life by only activating it during readings.
Q: Can this sensor be used directly with a 5V Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, the module operates at 5V. However, since it outputs a digital signal, ensure your code handles the logic level correctly. For analog moisture readings, you would need an external ADC.
Q: Does this come with jumper wires?
A: Yes, the package includes a set of 3 Dupont jumper wires to connect the VCC, GND, and DO pins to your microcontroller immediately upon arrival.
Q: Is this sensor waterproof?
A: The electronic components on the PCB are not waterproof and should be kept above the soil line. Only the metal probe forks are designed to be inserted into the soil.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity threshold?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the back of the PCB. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (trigger on wetter soil) or counter-clockwise to decrease it (trigger only on very dry soil).
