Easy to integrate
As someone new to electronics, I found this module incredibly easy to wire up. Plenty of tutorials online helped me get it running in under an hour. The output is clean and stable.

Reliable rain detection
I've installed two of these on my patio roof to trigger window closers. They respond instantly to water droplets and haven't given any false alarms during humid weather. Very satisfied.

Durable construction
Been using this outside for three months now. The coating on the board seems to hold up well against the elements. Only minor issue is the connector pins could be slightly more robust.

Good value but needs calibration
The module is solid and well-built. Out of the box, it was a bit too sensitive, but after tweaking the potentiometer, it works exactly as expected. Great price for the features offered.

Exceeded expectations
The large area makes a huge difference compared to smaller sensors I've tried. It detects even light drizzle effectively. The digital output makes interfacing with microcontrollers straightforward.

Perfect for my automated greenhouse
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino setup. The double-sided design catches rain from any angle, and the sensitivity adjustment is very precise. Highly recommended for DIY irrigation projects.
Q: Is the module waterproof or just water-resistant?
A: The sensing area is coated to handle water exposure, but the electronic components on the back are not fully waterproof. We recommend mounting it where the board itself is shielded from direct downpours while the sensing pad remains exposed.
Q: What is the current consumption of this module?
A: The module typically consumes around 20mA when active. It is suitable for battery-powered projects, though we suggest putting the microcontroller into sleep mode when no rain is detected to save power.
Q: Can this sensor distinguish between heavy rain and light drizzle?
A: Yes, by adjusting the blue potentiometer on the board, you can set the threshold for what triggers the digital output, allowing you to differentiate between light moisture and heavy rainfall.
Q: Can I use this with a 12V system directly?
A: No, the operating voltage is 3.3V to 5V. If you have a 12V system, you must use a voltage regulator or a logic level converter to avoid damaging the comparator chip.
Q: Does this come with connecting wires?
A: The package includes the sensor module only. You will need to purchase Dupont jumper wires separately to connect it to your microcontroller or relay board.
