Good accuracy, needs calibration
The sensor provides consistent readings for pulse detection. However, for blood oxygen levels, you will need to calibrate it against a medical-grade device if you need precise data. Great for learning and prototyping though.

Excellent value for money
Compared to other sensors in this category, the MAX30102 offers incredible performance at this price point. The breakout board layout is clean, and soldering the headers was easy.

Works well after figuring out pull-ups
Initially had trouble getting data, but realized my microcontroller needed external pull-up resistors on the SDA and SCL lines. Once added, it worked perfectly. Documentation could be slightly better for beginners.

Perfect for STM32 Projects

Robust and reliable
Have been testing this for three weeks continuously. No dropouts or errors in the data stream. The FIFO buffer helps prevent data loss during high-load processing tasks on the MCU.
