Works well in outdoor conditions

Installed this in a rain barrel collection system. It has survived rain and varying temperatures without any issues. The plastic housing seems durable against UV exposure so far.

Great value for money

Reliable but cable could be longer

The detection is accurate and responsive. My only minor complaint is that the 1.5m cable was just short of reaching my controller box, so I had to extend it. Otherwise, a great product for the price.

Q: Is this sensor compatible with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins?

A: Yes, since it outputs a standard digital high/low signal at 5V, it can be connected to Raspberry Pi GPIO pins. However, we recommend using a logic level converter if your specific Pi model requires 3.3V input to ensure safety.

Q: What is the maximum depth this sensor can be submerged?

A: The float switch itself is waterproof and can be fully submerged. However, the connection point where the cable enters the housing should not be subjected to high water pressure. It is ideal for open tanks or containers.

Q: Does the package include mounting screws?

A: The package includes the sensor module and cable, but mounting hardware such as screws or brackets is not included. The unit features standard holes that accept common M3 screws.

Q: How do I clean the sensor if algae builds up on the float?

A: You can gently wipe the float and the rod with a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid using abrasive scrubbers that could scratch the surface, as this might cause the float to stick over time.

Q: Can this be used with corrosive chemicals like bleach?

A: No, this module is designed specifically for water and non-corrosive liquids. Exposure to harsh chemicals like bleach may damage the plastic housing and the internal switch mechanism.
