Good value for money
Solid little sensor for the price. It arrived well-packaged. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the focus is fixed, but for general indication purposes, it is excellent.

Nice bright dot
The laser dot is crisp and round. Installation was straightforward. Just remember to use a current-limiting resistor if connecting directly to a microcontroller pin, though the module usually handles it.

Reliable and consistent
Bought a batch of ten for our workshop. All units functioned correctly out of the box. The 5V requirement makes it very easy to integrate without extra regulators.

Easy for beginners
As someone new to electronics, I found this very easy to set up. Plenty of tutorials online specifically for the KY-008. It lights up immediately when powered.
