Works as expected
Simple plug-and-play experience. Connected VCC to 5V, GND to ground, and the output to a digital pin. The LED on the board lights up when a magnet is detected, which is a nice visual indicator for debugging. Would buy again.

Great for learning electronics

Excellent sensitivity
The A3144 chip on this module is genuine and performs according to the datasheet. I tested the switching threshold, and it is very accurate. Great component for industrial prototyping or hobbyist projects alike.

Perfect for my Arduino speedometer project
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. I used it to count wheel rotations for a DIY bicycle speedometer. The response time is incredibly fast, and the included magnet is strong enough to trigger it reliably from a few centimeters away. Highly recommended for beginners.

Good value, easy to integrate
Bought five of these for a line-following robot that detects magnetic tape. They are very consistent. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the soldering pads are a bit small, so you need a steady hand if you aren't using header pins.

Reliable and robust
I've been running this sensor in an outdoor enclosure for two weeks now to monitor a gate opening. Despite some temperature fluctuations, it hasn't missed a beat. The build quality feels solid for the price point.
Q: Does the package include the magnet shown in the pictures?
A: Yes, each order includes one small cylindrical magnet specifically paired with the sensor module for immediate testing and integration.
Q: What is the maximum distance the magnet can be from the sensor to trigger it?
A: The detection distance depends heavily on the strength of the magnet used. With the included small magnet, reliable triggering usually occurs within 10mm to 15mm. Stronger neodymium magnets can increase this range up to 25mm.
Q: Is the output analog or digital?
A: This is a digital switch module. The output pin goes LOW when a magnetic south pole is detected near the front of the sensor and stays HIGH otherwise. It does not provide an analog voltage proportional to the field strength.
Q: Does this module work with 3.3V logic levels like the Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, the module operates between 4.5V and 24V for power, but the output is open-collector. You can use it with 3.3V systems like Raspberry Pi by powering the module at 5V and using a pull-up resistor to 3.3V on the output line, or simply rely on the internal pull-ups if your configuration supports it safely.
Q: Can I use this to measure RPM of a motor?
A: Absolutely. By attaching a small magnet to the rotating shaft and placing this sensor nearby, you can count the pulses per minute to calculate RPM. This is a very common application for the A3144 sensor.
