Perfect for my Arduino line follower
These sensors work flawlessly with my Arduino Uno project. The sensitivity adjustment via the potentiometer makes it easy to calibrate for different floor surfaces. Great value for a pair.

Excellent for university projects

Reliable digital output
The LM393 comparator provides a clean digital signal which makes coding the logic very straightforward. Only minor issue is that direct sunlight can interfere with the IR beam, but that is expected physics.

Fast shipping and great performance
Arrived earlier than expected. Tested immediately on a black tape line and it tracked perfectly. The adjustable range is a huge plus compared to fixed-range sensors I've used before.

Good quality but needs careful calibration

Kids love building with these

Q: What is the maximum current consumption of one module?
A: Each module typically consumes around 10mA to 20mA when the LED emitter is active. Please refer to the LM393 datasheet for precise electrical characteristics under different load conditions.
Q: Are the mounting holes standard size for M3 screws?
A: Yes, the mounting holes are approximately 3mm in diameter, which is suitable for M3 screws or similar small fasteners commonly used in robotics chassis construction.
Q: Can these sensors be used directly with a Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, they can be connected to Raspberry Pi GPIO pins. However, ensure you connect the VCC to the 5V or 3.3V pin depending on your Pi model requirements, and the output to a GPIO input pin. The digital output is compatible.
Q: Does this work for detecting clear glass objects?
A: Infrared reflective sensors rely on light reflection. Clear glass may allow IR light to pass through rather than reflecting it back, which can result in unreliable detection. It works best on opaque objects.
Q: How do I adjust the detection distance?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the PCB. Use a small screwdriver to rotate it clockwise to increase sensitivity (longer range) or counter-clockwise to decrease sensitivity (shorter range). Test with an object while adjusting.
