Great value but needs calibration
The module works well out of the box, but I had to tweak the sensitivity settings via UART to avoid false triggers from ceiling fans. Once configured, it's very stable.

Reliable 10GHz performance
We integrated several of these into our office occupancy system. The 10G band provides excellent resolution compared to older PIR sensors we used previously.

Good documentation support
The hardware is solid. The datasheet was clear enough to get the UART communication working quickly with an ESP32. Would recommend for developers.

Small form factor is a plus
It fits perfectly behind my light switch plates. You can barely see it, and it detects presence through thin plastic covers without issues.

Perfect for my smart home project
This sensor is incredibly sensitive and picks up micro-motions reliably. I used it to automate my hallway lights, and it works flawlessly even when someone is just reading a book.
Q: What is the maximum baud rate for the UART interface?
A: The default baud rate is 115200 bps, but it can be configured up to 921600 bps depending on your firmware requirements.
Q: Does this module require an external antenna?
A: No, the LD1030 comes with a built-in PCB antenna, so no external components are needed for standard operation.
Q: Can this detect stationary humans?
A: Yes, unlike traditional PIR sensors, this radar module uses micro-motion detection to identify breathing and slight movements of stationary subjects.
Q: Is this suitable for outdoor use?
A: The module itself is not waterproof. For outdoor use, you must house it in an IP65-rated enclosure that does not block radar signals (avoid metal enclosures).
Q: Does it work through glass or drywall?
A: Yes, 10GHz radar signals can penetrate non-metallic materials like drywall, wood, and glass, allowing for hidden installation.
