Reliable for solar charge controller

Perfect for my EV battery monitor

Solid industrial grade sensor
Good build quality and accurate readings. I deducted one star only because the leads are a bit short for some of my custom harnesses, but electrically it is top notch.

Easy to integrate
Very easy to interface with microcontrollers. The analog output scales perfectly with the 5V logic level. No calibration needed for my hobby drone application.

Great performance, watch the pinout
The module performs exactly as specified in the datasheet. Just be careful with the pin orientation when designing your PCB footprint. Once connected correctly, it provided stable readings immediately.

Accurate and fast response
Tested against a calibrated shunt resistor setup and the accuracy is within 1%. The fast response time makes it ideal for capturing inrush currents.
Q: What is the maximum continuous current it can handle without damage?
A: The sensor is rated for ±50A continuous. It can withstand overload currents up to 3x the rated value for short durations, but for continuous operation, stay within the ±50A limit to ensure accuracy and longevity.
Q: Can this measure AC current as well as DC?
A: Absolutely. Since it outputs an analog voltage centered around VCC/2, it can accurately measure both AC and DC currents within its -50A to +50A range.
Q: What is the zero-current output voltage?
A: For the bidirectional 'B' version, the quiescent output voltage is typically 50% of the supply voltage (VCC/2). So at 5V supply, the idle output is approximately 2.5V.
Q: Does this module require an external power supply separate from the MCU?
A: Yes, the sensor requires a clean 3.0V to 5.5V supply. While it can share the MCU's 5V rail, we recommend adding a decoupling capacitor close to the VCC pin to reduce noise.
Q: Is the cable included in the package?
A: No, this item is the bare sensor module only. You will need to solder your own wires or design a PCB footprint to connect it to your system.
