Accurate flow estimation
Using this for wastewater treatment plant monitoring. The 24GHz frequency provides excellent resolution for surface speed, which we convert to flow rate. Much safer than having technicians wade into the water for manual checks.

Robust build quality
We needed something that could withstand harsh outdoor environments. The IP67 rating holds up; it has survived heavy rain and direct sun without any degradation in signal quality. Highly recommended for industrial use.

Perfect for irrigation monitoring
Installed this on our main canal last month. The non-contact feature is a huge plus as it eliminates debris buildup issues we had with submerged sensors. Data transmission via RS485 is stable and integrates well with our SCADA system.

Solid performance, tricky initial setup
The sensor itself works great once calibrated. The manual could be clearer on the angle adjustment for optimal reflection, but support helped us get it right. Reading surface velocity accurately even in windy conditions.

Good value for money
Compared to other millimeter wave sensors on the market, this flat panel module offers great value. It's compact and easy to mount on existing poles. Only minor issue is the cable length could be longer for some installations.

Excellent technical support
Had questions about integrating the Modbus protocol with our legacy PLC. The support team was very knowledgeable and provided sample code quickly. The sensor data is consistent and reliable.
Q: Is the output compatible with Arduino or Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, since the module outputs data via RS485 using the Modbus RTU protocol, you can easily interface it with Arduino or Raspberry Pi using a simple MAX485 TTL to RS485 converter module.
Q: What is the maximum distance this radar can effectively measure?
A: Under ideal conditions with a calm water surface, the effective range is up to 30 meters. However, for best accuracy (within ±1%), we recommend an installation height between 2 and 15 meters above the water surface.
Q: Does heavy rain affect the measurement accuracy?
A: The 24GHz frequency is relatively resistant to atmospheric interference. While extremely heavy downpours might cause momentary noise spikes, the internal filtering algorithm smooths these out, maintaining reliable average velocity readings.
Q: Can this sensor measure water level as well as velocity?
A: This specific model is designed primarily for surface velocity measurement. While some algorithms can estimate level changes based on signal strength, we recommend pairing it with a dedicated ultrasonic level sensor for precise water level data.
Q: What mounting hardware is included in the box?
A: The package includes the sensor module, a mounting bracket with adjustable tilt angles, and stainless steel screws. You will need to provide your own pole or structure for installation.
