Essential for solar setups
I use these modules in several off-grid solar projects to control loads at night. They draw very little current themselves and handle the switching load efficiently. Highly recommended for anyone building automated lighting systems.

Compact and effective
Small footprint makes it easy to hide inside junction boxes. The photoresistor responds quickly to changes in light. I've tested it with both 5V and 12V inputs, and performance was consistent across both.

Perfect for my garden lighting project
This module works exactly as described. I connected it to a 12V LED strip for my garden path, and the automatic on/off feature based on ambient light is very reliable. The potentiometer makes it easy to set the exact darkness level required to trigger the relay.

Reliable and robust
Been using this for a warehouse exterior light. It handles the voltage spikes well and the relay click is audible but not annoying. The sensitivity adjustment range is wide enough to avoid false triggers from car headlights.

Good value, clear instructions needed
The hardware quality is solid for the price. It switched my 24V fan system without any issues. However, the labeling on the board is tiny, so having a diagram nearby helps. Once wired correctly, it has been running flawlessly for weeks.

Works great after figuring out wiring
As a beginner, I found the terminal labels slightly confusing at first, but online tutorials clarified everything. Now it controls my porch light perfectly. Just make sure your power supply matches the selected voltage jumper setting.
Q: How do I adjust the light sensitivity threshold?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the board. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (trigger at brighter conditions) or counter-clockwise to decrease it (trigger only in darker conditions).
Q: Is the operating voltage selected via software or hardware?
A: It is selected via a hardware jumper cap on the PCB. You must place the jumper on the pins corresponding to your input voltage: 5V, 12V, or 24V.
Q: What is the delay time between light detection and relay switching?
A: The response is nearly instantaneous, typically under 1 second. There is no built-in long delay timer; if you require a delay to prevent flickering, an external timer circuit would be needed.
Q: Can this module handle AC loads directly?
A: Yes, the relay contacts are rated for up to 250VAC, so you can switch AC loads like standard light bulbs, provided the current does not exceed 10A.
Q: Does this module have reverse polarity protection?
A: While the module is robust, we strongly recommend double-checking your positive and negative connections before powering on, as explicit reverse polarity protection circuitry is not featured on this specific budget model.
