Fast shipping and works perfectly

Solid performance

Works well with Arduino and Raspberry Pi setups. The digital output is clean. Only giving 4 stars because the documentation could be more detailed regarding voltage tolerances.

Great value for money

Bought three of these for different stations in our workshop. All of them performed consistently. The infrared receiver is quite accurate at distinguishing flame signatures.

Perfect for my robotics project

This sensor works exactly as described. I integrated it into a safety robot prototype, and the response time is incredibly fast when exposed to a lighter flame. The relay output makes wiring very simple.

Good sensitivity, needs calibration

The module is sensitive and picks up flames well. However, I had to adjust the potentiometer slightly to prevent false alarms from bright sunlight. Once calibrated, it works great.

Reliable and compact

5 FAQ

Q: Can this sensor detect gas leaks or only open flames?

A: This module is specifically designed to detect infrared radiation from open flames. It is not suitable for detecting gas leaks; you would need a specific gas sensor module for that purpose.

Q: Does this work outdoors in direct sunlight?

A: Direct sunlight contains infrared radiation that may trigger false positives. We recommend using a shielding tube or adjusting the sensitivity potentiometer if installing in areas with strong direct light.

Q: What is the maximum current the relay can handle?

A: The onboard relay can generally handle up to 10A at 250VAC or 10A at 30VDC. Please refer to the specific relay model printed on the component for exact ratings.

Q: Can I power this with a 9V battery?

A: The module is rated for 12V. While it might function at 9V, the relay may not engage reliably, and detection range could be reduced. We strongly recommend using a stable 12V power source.

Q: Is the relay output normally open or normally closed?

A: The relay module typically comes configured as Normally Open (NO), meaning the circuit closes when a flame is detected. You can often reconfigure it to Normally Closed (NC) depending on your specific wiring needs.
