Good accuracy, fast response
Works well for detecting dust and smoke. I noticed a slight delay when the air clears up compared to when pollution spikes, but overall it's very reliable for indoor monitoring.

Easy to interface
The documentation was clear enough to get started quickly. Pinout is standard and the PWM output is a nice backup option if you don't want to parse serial data.

Solid component
Does exactly what it says. Only giving 4 stars because the connector wires were a bit short for my enclosure setup, but that's a minor issue.

Consistent readings
Been running this 24/7 for two weeks now. No drift in calibration observed. It handles high humidity environments better than my previous optical sensor.

Perfect for my smart home project
Integrated this sensor into my ESP32 based air quality monitor. The UART communication is stable and the readings match closely with my reference meter. Great value for the price.
Q: Is this module waterproof?
A: No, the DC01 module is not waterproof. It should be installed in a dry environment or within an enclosure that protects it from direct water exposure while allowing air intake.
Q: How often does the sensor need calibration?
A: The sensor comes factory calibrated. Under normal operating conditions, it maintains accuracy for extended periods. We recommend checking against a reference unit annually for critical applications.
Q: Can this sensor detect cigarette smoke effectively?
A: Yes, the DC01 uses infrared scattering which is effective at detecting fine particulate matter found in cigarette smoke, typically categorized under PM2.5.
Q: What is the baud rate for the UART communication?
A: The default baud rate for the UART interface is 9600 bps. Please refer to the specific datasheet revision for any configurable options.
Q: Can I power this directly from a 3.3V pin?
A: No, the operating voltage range is 5.0V ± 0.2V. Supplying 3.3V may result in unstable readings or failure to operate. Please use a 5V regulator if your source is higher.
