Solid performance in indoor lighting
We tested this in various indoor lighting conditions and it performed consistently. Outdoors in direct sunlight, the range drops significantly, which is expected for this type of sensor. Great for indoor automation.

Great value, minor setup quirks
The module works as advertised. It took me a little while to get the voltage levels right with my 5V board, so make sure you use a logic level converter if needed. Once set up, the distance readings are stable and reliable.

Easy to use for beginners

Compact and powerful

Perfect for robotics projects
This sensor is incredibly accurate for short-range detection. I used it on my line-following robot and the response time is excellent. The I2C library provided by the manufacturer made integration with Arduino very simple.

Fast shipping and great product
Arrived well-packaged with all necessary headers. The build quality feels robust. I've been running it continuously for a week in a prototype and haven't experienced any drift or errors.
Q: Does the package include the connecting wires?
A: The package includes the sensor module and a set of male pin headers that you can solder onto the board. Connecting wires are not included but can be purchased separately.
Q: Can multiple sensors be used on the same I2C bus?
A: Yes, multiple VL53L0X sensors can be used on the same I2C bus, but they have the same default address. You must change the address of each sensor individually in your code before initializing them simultaneously.
Q: Is this compatible with a 5V Arduino Uno?
A: The sensor operates at 2.6V-3.5V. While many users connect it directly to 5V boards successfully, we recommend using a logic level converter for the SDA and SCL lines to ensure long-term reliability and prevent potential damage.
Q: Can this sensor work outdoors in direct sunlight?
A: While the sensor can function outdoors, direct sunlight contains significant infrared noise which can reduce the effective range and accuracy. It is best suited for indoor applications or shaded outdoor areas.
