Works well for color differentiation
While primarily marketed for line tracking, I successfully used it to differentiate between dark blue and red blocks by analyzing the analog variance. A versatile component.

Perfect for my line follower robot
This sensor module works exactly as described. The dual-channel output makes it very easy to calibrate for line tracking. I used it with an Arduino Uno and the analog readings were stable and consistent.

Reliable and durable
We have used dozens of these in our workshop for beginner robotics kits. They are robust, handle minor bumps well, and the pinout is clearly labeled which helps beginners.

Good value but needs calibration
Great little sensor for the price. You do need to spend some time adjusting the potentiometer to get the right sensitivity for your specific lighting conditions, but once set, it tracks lines smoothly.

Excellent for university projects
Bought this for a final year project involving autonomous navigation. The grayscale detection is accurate enough to distinguish between black tape and white surfaces even under varying light.
Q: Does this module come with connecting wires?
A: Yes, the package includes a set of 3-pin Dupont female-to-female jumper wires to easily connect the VCC, GND, and Signal pins to your microcontroller.
Q: Can this sensor work outdoors in direct sunlight?
A: While the sensor functions in various lighting conditions, direct intense sunlight may saturate the photosensitive elements. We recommend using a shielding tube or testing calibration values specifically for outdoor use.
Q: Is the mounting hole spacing standard for servo brackets?
A: The mounting holes are spaced 26mm apart center-to-center, which is compatible with many standard servo brackets and robot chassis frames, though you may need small spacers depending on your specific frame.
Q: Can I use this with a 3.3V logic board like ESP32?
A: Absolutely. The module operates on a voltage range of 3.3V to 5V, making it fully compatible with 3.3V logic boards such as the ESP32, ESP8266, and Raspberry Pi GPIO.
Q: What is the maximum sampling rate recommended for this sensor?
A: For optimal stability, we recommend reading the analog values at intervals of 10ms to 20ms. Faster sampling may introduce noise without providing significant benefits for line tracking logic.
