Good but short shelf life once mixed
The chemicals work great fresh, but I noticed the developer lost potency faster than expected after mixing. Make sure to use it within a few weeks.

Perfect for beginners on a budget

Solid performance, slight odor
The developer works very well and produces nice contrast. The only downside is the fixer has a fairly strong smell, so make sure you have good ventilation in your darkroom.
Q: How many liters of working solution does the developer powder make?
A: The developer concentrate included in this kit makes approximately 1 liter of stock solution, which can be diluted further depending on your specific workflow requirements.
Q: Can I reuse the fixer solution for multiple batches?
A: Yes, the fixer can be reused. We recommend tracking the number of rolls processed; typically, 1 liter of working fixer can handle up to 20-24 rolls of 35mm film before exhaustion.
Q: What is the recommended development time for ISO 400 film?
A: Development times vary by film stock. Please refer to the detailed chart included in the package insert or visit our website for specific times for Kodak Tri-X, Ilford HP5, and others.
Q: Is a separate stop bath required or is it included?
A: A stop bath component is included in the box. You do not need to purchase vinegar or a separate acid stop unless you prefer a specific brand.
Q: Can this kit be used for developing color film?
A: No, this kit is specifically formulated for black and white negative film only. Using it for color film will not yield correct results.
