Solid performance, long lasting
I have been using a piece of this for two months now, just rinsing it every two weeks. It hasn't fallen apart or lost its shape. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the packaging was a bit difficult to open, but the product itself is top-notch.

Easy to customize for beginners
As someone new to aquariums, I wasn't sure what size pads I needed. This roll allowed me to experiment and cut pieces until they fit my small internal filter perfectly. Instructions on how to layer it were clear implicitly by the design.

Excellent for saltwater sumps
Using this in my saltwater sump as a pre-filter sock alternative. It catches fine particulates before they hit my protein skimmer. The fact that it is reusable after rinsing makes it very economical. Will definitely buy again.

Perfect fit for my large canister filter
I bought this 12-meter roll for my 200-gallon tank setup. The thickness is excellent, providing great mechanical filtration without restricting water flow. Being able to cut it to exact dimensions saved me a lot of money compared to buying pre-cut pads.

Great value for the length
Twelve meters is a lot of material! I've already used about 3 meters to line three different hang-on-back filters. The white layer traps debris effectively, and the green-white layer seems to hold beneficial bacteria well. Highly recommended.

Good quality, slightly stiff at first
The density is definitely higher than standard cotton, which is good for durability. It was a bit stiff when I first took it out of the package, but after a quick rinse and installation, it softened up and works perfectly. My water clarity has improved noticeably.
Q: Is this material safe for shrimp and sensitive fish?
A: Yes, our Bio-White and Green-White filter media is made from non-toxic, inert synthetic fibers that are completely safe for shrimp, sensitive fish, and coral reefs once rinsed with dechlorinated water before initial use.
Q: Does this come with adhesive or do I need to secure it myself?
A: The product comes as a loose roll of filter media without adhesive. Most aquarium filters have trays or compartments where the cotton can be layered and held in place by the filter lid or water pressure. If needed, you can use plastic mesh or zip ties to secure it.
Q: How often should I replace or clean this filter cotton?
A: For optimal performance, we recommend rinsing the cotton in removed tank water every 2-4 weeks depending on your bioload. You can reuse it multiple times until the fibers begin to break down or flow becomes restricted, typically every 3-6 months.
Q: Can this filter cotton be cut into smaller pieces for nano tanks?
A: Yes, absolutely. The 12-meter roll is designed to be easily cut with scissors to fit filters of any size, from large canisters down to small nano tank hang-on-back filters.
Q: What is the difference between the Bio-White and Green-White layers?
A: The Bio-White layer is ultra-fine for trapping microscopic particles and hosting beneficial bacteria, while the Green-White layer is slightly coarser, designed to catch larger debris first, preventing clogging of the finer layer and extending the life of the media.
